Chapter 8: Death Blooms

Alexia screamed as she jumped up from the covers on the floor, she saw that the wetness on her forehead was water, “Megan! Megan!” was all she screamed, but unknown to her, screaming would soon be part of her life.

**
Megan was clipping the clothes to the clothesline, she really never understood why she could never get a washer and dryer, and then she thought of Mark.

Probably paid his bar tab every time they went out

She threw the clothespins down in anger. She hated that as soon as her dad died, her mom had to be with a drunk. Just because she needed someone.

She started picking up the pins, and kicked the plant next to the door in anger, the already cracked clay pot. A piece flew into the corner of the sliding door. It lodged itself in the metal in such a way that if you tried to slide it, it wouldn’t open.

Megan heard the faint screams of Alexia from the upstairs window. “What the hell?” Megan asked herself, heading for the sliding door. She put her hand on the handle, when she felt her flip-flops getting wet. She looked down to see that, the whole pot had been drained of all of its water.

“Sh!t” Megan said, as shook her foot out.

**
Alexia stopped her screaming fit once she heard a weird noise from the computer. A spark came up and Alexia jumped back. She saw that one of the clothes that she threw at the window last night was a silk shirt, and it had rained last night, and the water came through the open window. The silk shirt served as a make shift canal, because the right shirt sleeve was on the computer.

“Damn” Alexia said as she headed for the door, she kept her eyes on the computer and she placed her hand on the handle. The computer sparked once more before finally exploding. A piece of glass slashed her cheek; it then entered the door frame right next to the handle. It pinned the door lock to the face plate and the blood from Alexia’s cheek dripped down the door frame. When the initial explosion happened a piece of computer smashed into the TV, which was almost directly across from the computer, the TV blew up, and Alexia fell to the ground. Glass showered her and she screamed, she grabbed at the glass that was holding the door shut and it only cut her hands up.

No matter how much she turned the handle, it wouldn’t budge. The explosion of the TV caused the carpet to catch on fire, Alexia started to lose hope.

**
Megan heard the explosion, and tried the door harder this time, it still didn’t budge. Her heart was pumping so loudly, that she couldn’t hear anything that is until she heard a loud boom. She jumped and saw that it was the AC. The top was off of it for repairs, it would come on for a couple of hours, then die. So it made a louder than usual noise when it kicked in. She saw smoke starting to come out of the attic window, she ran, thinking she could some how climb up to there. Her feet went back when she tried to start running, so she fell forward into the clothes line. The knot on the line locked into the pulley on the other side, and the pulley attached to the house snapped and the line went around her neck. She was leaning forward, toes barely on the porch, she tried to grab onto something but she was becoming delirious real quick and all she could do was look at the AC under her.

**

Alexia’s hands were severely cut and she sat against the wall waiting for the fire to engulf her. A lamp exploded and some debris pierced the door, it made a hollow noise and, Alexia turned toward the door. She got up and kicked it in. Some light shone through and she almost laughed, she kicked wildly, as the fire reached her stationary leg. She finally dove through the hole she had made and put out the fire on her leg. It started to creep through the door and Alexia crawled to the stairs, she went to reach for the railing when it came loose and she fell down the stairs, her right shoulder hit the detached railing hard, since the railing was in the middle of the stairs, and she was thrown off of the stairs, down into the small foyer.

**

Megan’s toes finally slid off of the porch and she hung there for a second until the knot in the line finally pulled through the pulley and she landed in the open AC vent. She fell into the spinning fan, used to cool the unit down, and her arm was thrown across the yard, her stomach was sliced open and her organs fell to the bottom of the unit, causing them to get into the fan’s rotator and make it stop.

The fire trucks and first aid came when neighbors saw smoke. A firefighters burst through the front door, almost stepping on Alexia head. He picked her up and carried her outside where they found that she had a weak pulse, so she was rushed to the hospital.

Another firefighter found Megan’s mangled body in the AC vent. The coroner shouted “You sure the power’s out?” A faint “Yea” was heard and the coroner started removing the body. He pulled her actual body first; legs still in the unit, as he pulled the rest of her organs were pulled out of her body by the fan. Her body had also been blocking the fan. By the fan rotating it chopped Megan’s organs and legs into little pieces and threw them at the crowd around the unit. When Megan’s legs were basically ‘eaten’ the coroner fell back, and Megan’s lifeless eyes stared back at him.
Our first death scene! I think its pretty good, if you need anything cleared up, don't hesitate to send me a note or say it in a comment. I know something you may not get, just because there are so many things that go on at once.

Interesting. I was starting to wonder if you had given up on this. But, alas! You went and put up several chapters. Bravo!

Stupid preppies needed to die anyway. =P I also like the part where her remains were flung from the unit.

However, I'm not positive that the fans in modern AC units would be powerful enough to kill a person. I'm sure the manufacturers have taken that possibility into account, and have made some sort of safety adjustment to the design... But it would work if it were an older unit, which I am going to assume it is. =D

Suh-weet update. Looking forward to more.
